Skyborn Japan is based in Tokyo and was established in 2018 with the aim of developing, building and operating offshore wind power in Japan and contributing to Japan’s goal of achieving ambitious renewable energy target in 2023 and carbon neutrality by 2050.

Japanese government places offshore wind power as a key to achieve carbon neutrality since Japan has (i) limited flat land for onshore wind/solar and (ii) the 6th largest seabed area (EEZ basis) in the world. With this huge offshore wind potential, Japan is aiming to achieve 10 GW (awarded basis) in 2030 and 30–45 GW (awarded basis) offshore wind capacity.

Skyborn Japan contributes to achieving Japan's ambitious offshore wind target by leveraging our capability and experience in the offshore wind industry. We have a strong local team and develop Japanese offshore wind energy projects with the support of the offshore wind experts from our global network.
