Dr. Christian Zaum was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Skyborn Renewables effective 01 July 2025, where he leads the overall management of finance and accounting activities and related teams as well as the IT team.

His leadership plays a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s financial foundation and supporting its expansion in the international offshore wind sector.

Before joining Skyborn, Christian held multiple senior international finance roles within the E.ON Group over nearly 15 years, demonstrating deep expertise in the energy industry in various markets. Most recently, he served as CFO of Essent, the market leading energy utility in the Netherlands. Prior to that, he was CFO of E.ON Italia, driving growth and transformation of a true market challenger.

Christian’s international experience extends beyond his professional career, having spent five years in Turkey as Group Finance & Investor Relations Director at Enerjisa. Preparing the company for public listing and executing the largest IPO of a Turkish company in the recent past.

Christian’s academic foundation is rooted in Economics and Finance. He holds a PhD in Finance from WHU – (Wissenschaftliche Hochschule für Unternehmensführung - Otto Beisheim School of Management), a Master of Commerce in Finance from the University of Auckland (New Zealand) and a BSc in Economics from Universiteit Maastricht. He is fluent in German, English, and Spanish. Christian is recognized for his strategic vision, financial acumen, and ability to lead organizations through complex transitions.
