Thomas Karst became Chief Commercial and Development Officer (CCDO) on 1 June 2024 after serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since March 2023. Prior to this, Thomas Karst had been Co-Chief Operating Officer (Co-COO) of Skyborn since September 2022.

He holds a Master of Science in food chemistry from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Denmark where he studied from 1980 to 1985. From 2002 to 2003 Thomas Karst successfully joined the Program Executive Development for Management Development and Certificate at the International Institute in Lausanne in Switzerland. In 2015 he became ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor Certificate at ACS in Denmark. Thomas also holds a Yacht Master 1st Degree Certificate from the Danish Maritime Authorities.

Prior to joining Skyborn,Thomas Karst served as Head of Project Offshore Sales and Execution at Siemens Gamesa from 2020 to 2022, and from 2019 to 2021 as CEO of Arcon-Sunmark A/S. From 2015 to 2019 he was Chief Sales Officer and Senior Vice President at MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.

Thomas Karst was also Senior Director and Executive Programme Director at DONG Energy from 2014 to 2015, and Partner and Director at MAKE Consulting from 2007 to 2014.

His international career spans more than three decades and has given him extensive experience in international project contracting, management, strategy, sales and the after-sales market, as well as in-depth knowledge of the wind energy sector.
